Join a socially conscious, member-owned mutual as Manager – Corporate Governance, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer & Company Secretary. This 12-month fixed-term role offers the opportunity to lead and deliver strategic governance initiatives at the heart of a purpose-driven, B Corp-certified financial institution.

You’ll contribute to the implementation of the Member Outcomes and Risk Excellence (MORE) program, enhancing governance, accountability, and risk culture. Your portfolio will include uplifting governance frameworks, leading regulatory filings, supporting the Board and Committees, and delivering key initiatives such as the Financial Accountability Regime, whistleblower program, and Modern Slavery Statement.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead activities to uplift governance and risk maturity

Enhance governance frameworks, policies, and compliance practices

Support Board and Committee operations, including papers, reviews, and regulatory filings

Maintain a forward governance calendar aligned to APRA and ASIC requirements

Deliver accountability documentation and support CPS 511 implementation

Oversee ethical obligations including the whistleblower program and Modern Slavery Statement

Coordinate preparation and execution of the Annual General Meeting

Deliver governance and whistleblower training across leadership groups

Cultivate strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and regulators

Requirements:

You are a detail-oriented governance professional with a passion for ethical leadership and regulatory integrity. You bring strong stakeholder engagement skills, thrive in values-led environments, and are driven to make a meaningful impact through sound corporate governance.

5–7+ years’ experience in governance, legal, or company secretarial roles (financial services preferred)

Deep understanding of governance principles, Board/committee operations, and compliance

Strong working knowledge of the Corporations Act, APRA/ASIC standards, and CPS 511

Experience with Board documentation, corporate registers, and regulatory reporting

Familiarity with the Financial Accountability Regime and Modern Slavery obligations

Excellent organisational and written communication skills

Degree qualified in Law, Governance, or related discipline; GIA or AICD qualifications desirable

Experience in a mutual or member-based organisation is a plus

Hybrid working model: 3–4 days in-office, Homebush location
