Job Summary
Prominent boutique insurance recovery law firm seeks legal assistant to help litigation paralegals and attorneys. Applicant should be a self-starter, possess excellent communications skills, and must be well organized to join our fast-growing firm.
Responsibilities:
Assisting the litigation paralegal with various tasks as directed by attorneys
Working with paralegals to assist with assigned attorneys’ calendar
Managing file organization and incoming mail and pleadings
Copying and sending out mail and emails
Updating and managing case files for organization
Helping with trial preparations if needed (copying, preparing exhibits, etc.)
Time entry and assist with monthly billing
Requirements:
·High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Associates degree or a bachelor’s degree is preferred
At least 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant (preferably in a law firm or in a corporate legal department), legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal
Must possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload
Detail oriented
Proficient in scheduling depositions, mediation, and hearings.
Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures, practices, etc.
Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
Extensive computer and database expertise, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
