Job  |  Services LLC Amazon Legal is looking for an experienced Corporate Counsel to advise on digital trust and safety issues. The ideal candidate will combine exceptional legal and policy expertise in the digital trust and safety space with high-judgment; familiarity with the operational and investigatory efforts associated with highly offensive and/or illegal content; child safety; experience working with law enforcement requests;

and experience advising leaders of

cross-functional teams

. Key job responsibilities Work closely with Legal and Policy colleagues to track developing content policy legislation and scope and implement compliance strategies together with product counsel and individual services. Consult and advise Amazon services on external and internal policies for highly sensitive content. Anticipate sources of abuse and work with services to develop mitigation strategies.

Influence product teams to incorporate risk mitigation into the product development process, and build and improve abuse detection, analytics, and internal moderation tools. Serve as advisor on high-risk escalations. Drive cross-Amazon policy initiatives in an

inclusive

manner that continually seeks to understand and anticipate content-related issues. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of legal experience Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines Experience handling sensitive content moderation issues related to strategy, operations, policy, enforcement, or escalations Knowledge of online content risks and industry standards and best practices Experience handling and advising on highly offensive and/or illegal content Ability to communicate complex topics to non-technical stakeholders through written and verbal

communication

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to trust and safety, particularly related to user-generated content Demonstrated ability to identify, mitigate, and manage business risks and tradeoffs in a high-pressure environment Demonstrated ability to maintain composure and lead effectively under pressure Ability to influence without authority across teams and levels Amazon is committed to a

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
