In the Corporate Counsel role, you will use your legal, project management, and leadership skills to develop, implement, and advance an effective, centralized compliance and risk management framework. This role requires legal understanding, innovation, insights, and guidance to be a pivotal part of our ongoing evolution and commitment to do the right thing for the people and clients we serve. Responsibilities
Compliance & Risk Management
- Design, implement, and operate an enterprise-wide compliance and risk program, encompassing safety, operational, financial, payroll and regulatory systems
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and training programs to mitigate legal, regulatory, and operational risks ensuring compliance required nationwide
- Be the primary liaison for regulatory authorities, auditors, and external counsel
Legal & Contract Management
- Provide timely and practical legal advice for executive and business leadership, serving as privacy officer and providing oversight for HIPAA, insurance policies and trademark renewals
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, operational, and partnership contracts
- Ensure organizational policies, contracts, and practices comply with applicable laws and regulations
- Leverage AI-assisted contract analysis, version control, and legal research tools to enhance drafting quality, accelerate turnaround times, and support consistent application of legal standards
Strategic Leadership
- Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives to strengthen organizational compliance and risk posture
- Partner with executive leadership to integrate legal, compliance, and risk management with growth initiatives and strategic decision-making
- Mentor and develop employees, and build scalable legal and compliance team capacity to accommodate organizational growth
- Drive AI-enabled legal tool adoption, including workflow automation, document intelligence, data dashboards, and more, to increase efficiency and functional capacity
Qualifications + Requirements
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5+ years’ corporate legal experience, with experience in occupational health and safety, environmental compliance, or regulated industries preferred
- Proven expertise handling complex contracts and enterprise-wide initiatives while promoting adoption of policies and compliance standards
- Strong project management and leadership skills including the ability to translate legal expertise into actionable business strategies
- Impeccable integrity, judgment, and professionalism
- Demonstrated proficiency with AI-enabled legal tools—AI research platforms, contract analytics, compliance automation— and the ability to implement responsible AI use policies within the legal function.
- Experience designing or leading compliance programs for multi-site or national organizations preferred
- Understanding of occupational health, safety, or value-based care a plus
