Job Description:
We’re a growing solo criminal defense firm based in Las Vegas, and we’re hiring a Las Vegas-based legal assistant to help with day-to-day case management, discovery coordination, and SOP/system development.
This is a remote position, but we’re only considering local applicants due to the nature of the work and occasional court- or agency-specific tasks. You’ll start as a 1099 contractor with the intent to convert to a full-time W-2 position if you’re a great fit.
Key Responsibilities:
Order discovery from prosecutorial agencies
Organize and label discovery in SharePoint and Dropbox
File prepared motions and pleadings in Nevada state courts
Communicate with clients regarding classes, fines, and court compliance
Generate documents from templates for filing
Create and refine SOPs, task checklists, and workflow documentation
Help document what should be automated (no coding required)
Requirements:
Must be based in the Las Vegas Valley
Experience as a legal assistant or paralegal preferred (criminal law preferred)
Detail-oriented and highly organized
Proficient in Microsoft Word, SharePoint, and Outlook
Comfortable working independently and managing time across multiple tasks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
