Corporate/Commercial Associate Lawyer Jobs in Calgary, Alberta, Canada at WBA Law LLP
WBA LAW LLP is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to join our corporate/commercial group as an associate. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 8 years of broad corporate and commercial experience and will be proficient in structuring commercial transactions, drafting corporate and commercial documents, including incorporation documentation, unanimous shareholders agreements, partnership agreements and joint venture agreements, completing due diligence reviews, and providing general advice on business structures.
Experience in
tax planning
or tax knowledge is also an asset but not a requirement. The ideal candidate will also have exceptional capabilities in legal research and writing, analyzing corporate and commercial documents and communicating with clients and other counsel in a prompt manner. An interest in client development and marketing is strongly encouraged and will be supported by the firm as we are in a substantial growth phase.
The successful candidate will assist senior lawyers with more complex corporate and commercial transactions and financings, as well as be responsible for a broad range of other corporate and commercial work. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to expand their interest to real estate work, if interested. Conducting due diligence reviews, legal research and drafting agreements and other documents will form a large aspect of day-to-day activities.
It is expected that the successful candidate will have the management of their own files, but mentorship will be readily provided. The ability to take instructions directly from clients and have comfort in interacting with clients is a must.
