Overview
Gateley Legal is looking for a high-performing, driven and ambitious Equity Capital Markets Associate or Senior Associate with a minimum of four years PQE who thrives on transactional work and seeks to advance within a dynamic and supportive team. The role is based in either the London or Birmingham office, offering a hybrid working model, and will be part of the national Equity Capital Markets team working closely with senior leadership and partners.
Responsibilities
Handle a diverse workload encompassing equity capital markets, public M&A and corporate governance across sectors such as manufacturing, life sciences, construction, retail, technology, healthcare, financial services, real estate, recruitment, training and education. Gain cross‑border transactional experience, including transatlantic and pan‑European work. Advise corporates, investment banks, brokers and major shareholders on primary and secondary securities offerings listed on UK and international stock exchanges.
Manage transactions with ownership in more complex and high‑value work, working closely with partners. Build and maintain network and relationships in the ECM and wider market, and provide client‑centric legal and commercial advice.
Qualifications
- Minimum four years PQE with experience in equity capital markets and public M&A.
- Experience managing transactions and taking ownership of matters.
- Demonstrated high‑quality technical legal skills and confidence to offer commercial advice.
- Strong commercial acumen, good negotiation skill and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to mentor junior team members.
- Personable, enthusiastic, collaborative and driven to succeed.
