The Contracts Manager will serve as a key business, legal, compliance, and technology partner responsible for the preparation, administration, negotiation, and monitoring of commercial and government contracts. Reporting to the VP, Governance and Compliance, this role will oversee contract administration operations, ensure contracts adhere to company policies and legal and regulatory requirements, and manage contract administration staff located in India. The Contracts Manager will provide day-to-day guidance on complex contractual, operational, and regulatory matters while leveraging contract management systems, automation, reporting tools, and AI-enabled solutions to improve accuracy, efficiency, consistency, accountability, and visibility across the contract lifecycle.
Work Location
This position is eligible for remote work. Priority consideration will be given to candidates based in the DMV (DC, MD, VA) area to support occasional in-person collaboration.

What You’ll Do:
- Manage the contract administration function, including day-to-day oversight of India-based contract administrators and coordination with Legal, Sales, Finance, Services, Governance and Compliance, and other internal stakeholders.
- Prepare, review, administer, and monitor bids, proposals, commercial contracts, government contracts, GSA-related matters, reseller agreements, prime/subcontractor arrangements, teaming agreements, vendor agreements, and related contract documentation.
- Oversee the full contract lifecycle from intake, drafting, negotiation, execution, administration, renewal, compliance monitoring, and closeout.
- Provide guidance to contract administration staff and business partners on complex contractual terms, regulatory requirements, approval workflows, risk considerations, and escalation paths.
- Negotiate contract terms with customers, suppliers, partners, subcontractors, and other external parties in partnership with Legal and business stakeholders.
- Ensure contracts are administered and monitored to maintain compliance with contractual commitments, company policies, legal requirements, and applicable government regulations, including FAR, DFARS, SAM, and related federal contracting requirements.
- Maintain and improve contract templates, clause libraries, playbooks, approval matrices, standard operating procedures, and contract administration best practices.
- Design and monitor contract operations metrics and KPIs to track volume, cycle times, aging items, renewals, compliance obligations, workload distribution, and team performance against service expectations.
- Conduct periodic audits of contracts, records, and contracting practices to identify compliance gaps, process risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support contract-related reporting, data requests, regulatory submissions, government audits, internal reviews, and cross-functional governance initiatives.
- Champion the effective use of contract management technology, workflow automation, reporting dashboards, and AI-enabled tools to streamline intake, review, routing, approvals, renewals, obligation tracking, contract data management, and audit readiness.
- Identify opportunities to use technology and AI responsibly to reduce manual work, improve contract data quality, accelerate cycle times, surface risks, standardize processes, and enhance cross-functional visibility into contract status and obligations.
- Exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making, including resolving contractual issues, escalating matters appropriately, and serving as a subject matter expert on contract administration, operations, and compliance.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, legal studies, public administration, finance, supply chain, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 7+ years of relevant contracts, contract administration, legal operations, procurement, or government contracting experience, including experience supporting complex commercial and/or government contracts.
- 2+ years of supervisory, team lead, or people management experience preferred, including experience managing offshore teams.
- Strong understanding of the contract lifecycle, contract types, commercial terms, approval workflows, and contract administration controls.
- Experience and working knowledge of federal contracting requirements, including FAR, DFARS, SAM, GSA schedules, teaming arrangements, subcontract arrangements, key clauses, reporting obligations, and audit support.
- Strong systems orientation with experience using Microsoft 365, Salesforce, NetSuite, contract lifecycle management tools, reporting dashboards, workflow tools, and federal acquisition systems such as SAM. Hands-on experience with legal operations software, automation, AI-enabled contract tools, and responsible use of emerging technologies is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage priorities, build trust with stakeholders, and drive accountability across teams.
