Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated attorney with deep interest and industry knowledge in ERISA health and welfare employee benefits and/or health insurance regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with legal and regulatory issues affecting health plan service providers, including PBMs, TPAs, and HRA vendors.
In this evolving area of law, with frequent updates, litigation, and legislative changes, we are looking for a candidate who is intellectually curious, passionate about health coverage and compliance, and capable of staying ahead of legal developments..
Key Responsibilities:
Advise employers, TPAs, PBMs, HRA administrators, consultants, and insurers on legal and regulatory matters related to health and welfare benefit plans.
Provide legal guidance on compliance with HIPAA, ACA, No Surprises Act, mental health parity laws, HSAs, wellness programs, and cafeteria plans.
Research and interpret complex regulatory requirements and prepare clear, actionable legal guidance.
Draft a wide range of legal documents, including detailed contracts and consumer-facing materials written in plain language.
Monitor and respond to changes in federal and state healthcare laws impacting benefit plan service providers.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active and in good standing with the Bar in applicable jurisdiction(s); willingness to seek admission in the office of hire jurisdiction as a condition of employment.
Demonstrated experience and interest in health benefits law and regulatory compliance.
Strong analytical, research, and writing skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in both technical and layman’s terms.
Excellent academic credentials and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive work ethic.
Preferred Experience:
Direct experience working with service providers in the health plan industry (e.g., PBMs, TPAs, HRA vendors).
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks surrounding health and welfare plans and employee benefits.
Experience in contract drafting, regulatory compliance counseling, or litigation in the health benefits space.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $225,000.00 – $390,000.00 per year
