WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a Contract Specialist on the OGC’s Global/NA Marketplace, Ops & Innovation team, based at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. You will perform a key role in extending this team’s ability to serve Nike business partners and the evolution of their business model. To be successful, you must demonstrate initiative and possess excellent risk assessment and reasoning skills. The ability to work independently, track and meet deadlines, and manage multiple daily tasks is also key.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

Your Daily Responsibilities Will Include

Completing end-to-end contract management actions, from submission through storage, with a focus on building efficiencies using digital workflows and many other innovative legal processes.

Overseeing or supporting contract negotiations involving business teammates, vendors and other third parties, consistent with Nike policies and best practices.

Working within Nike’s enterprise contract management platform and other digital collaboration tools relating to contract lifecycle management.

Partnering with NIKE attorneys, paralegals, business stakeholders and outside counsel on a range of contracting and dealmaking matters.

Project-managing in support of various team initiatives.

Assisting with the development of presentations and training materials on legal topics.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

You will report to the Manager, Marketplace Legal. You will also collaborate with cross-functional Legal and business teammates, and other support functions such as Procurement, Finance and Technology. Your work may include matters for our Jordan Brand division and Converse affiliate. You will build relationships with colleagues and other parties having a wide range of expertise, communication styles and needs.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING TO NIKE?

Bachelor’s degree required

A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a paralegal, contract specialist or similar support role in a law firm, corporate law department or large company

Demonstrated experience drafting and managing a wide range of contract types under tight deadlines

Flexibility and willingness to take on and organize projects in new or unfamiliar areas

A bias for action and ability to work independently within a complex international organization

Strategic mindset to continuously find new ways of efficiently contracting

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels and to diverse audiences

Proficiency in Word and Excel, experience with dynamic collaboration tools such as Smartsheet and Airtable, and the ability to navigate digital contract and vendor management tools

Strong team player with a strategic mindset and close attention to detail
