The Team
The Contract Negotiator will be a non-attorney member of the S&P Dow Jones Indices legal department. The team supports the division’s commercial organization, product development, business management, and compliance functions. This role is similar to a Senior Paralegal, Procurement, or Legal Contract Specialist.
The Impact
The Contract Negotiator manages client and vendor contracts, negotiating and drafting agreements for index information products and services. You will provide excellent customer service, assist with contract inquiries, and support project management related to contracting processes and partner relationships.

Responsibilities
Negotiate and draft contracts including licenses, confidentiality agreements, and amendments.
Coordinate with commercial and product teams during negotiations.
Manage contracts database and internal systems.
Enhance contracting processes for efficiency.
Create presentations and conduct training on contracts.
Lead projects such as due diligence for acquisitions and partnership unwinding.
Manage the contracting process playbook.
Work with the Decommission Team on legal issues.
Qualifications
Minimum 8 years of legal or paralegal experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
College degree required.
Fast learner with a positive attitude and flexible approach.
Strong presentation and training skills.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of contract and intellectual property law.
Experience with federal and state contract negotiations.
