About the Job

As a Contracts Manager, you will be an integral part of the Construction team, driving contract strategy and leading the development of facilities from greenfield projects to fully commissioned buildings. Your primary focus will be on safeguarding the project through effective contract management, minimizing risks, and ensuring the application of best commercial and contractual practices.

About the Team

You will collaborate closely with the Program, Project Management, Engineering, and Procurement teams to ensure seamless project execution. Additionally, you will manage and support a team of Contract Specialists while overseeing contract management for all construction projects at the Germany site.

Your Tasks

Manage and analyse contracts with customers and provide contractual guidance to the project team

Identify and strategize potential disruptions that could lead to additional costs or delays, developing preventive measures

Participate in the continuous improvement and development of contract management best practices, including tools, processes, and training

Advise the project team on liabilities and risks associated with potential disruptions, offering corrective and preventive solutions

Support Commercial Project Managers and Project Managers in evaluating claims and assessing their validity

Draft notices and other documents in collaboration with Project Management, Procurement, Legal, and Insurance teams

Analyse and report claims while ensuring “lessons learned” are effectively communicated across the organization

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all construction contracts, supporting the team throughout the construction phase

Facilitate contract/construction kick-off meetings and weekly contract progress meetings

Evaluate monthly progress claims, expedite approvals and payments, and review contractor variation claims

Prepare contractual correspondence and maintain a correspondence log/register

Continuously update the contract administration system to reflect the current status of contracts

Ensure contractor compliance and generate progress reports and supporting documents in a timely manner

Your Profile

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or a related field; a Contracts Management certification or degree is a plus

Practical experience in contracts and/or claims management, or a similar background

Experience in Advanced tech manufacturing or with FIDIC contracts is advantageous

Strong analytical skills, solution-oriented mindset, and excellent organizational abilities

Interest in complex technical issues with great attention to detail and strong communication and writing skills

Confident in expressing your opinion, taking initiative, and standing your ground when necessary

Enjoy working in an international and multicultural team environment

Fluent in written and spoken English, German language skills are advantageous
