Purpose

This role oversees high-value and critical contracts, and involves proactively identifying and mitigating risks, implementing robust financial and operational controls, and supporting the organisation in achieving consistent, effective, and commercially sound contract outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • To manage high value/high importance contracts as required to meet its contractual obligations.
  • To provide contract management advice to the organization, ensuring that arrangements are in place for effective contracts management.
  • To identify and manage risks that may arise through the operation of the contract and to implement robust financial and operational controls.

Qualifications

  • Construction law related degree or similar.
  • Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and/or Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (ACIarb) or similar

Experience

  • Min 10 years of proven contract management experience working on large-scale projects- waste, construction, oil and gas industries.
  • Experience working on waste management and recycling projects is ideal but not essential.
  • Experience working with Government entities on concession agreements, preferably with waste and waste to energy and construction experience.
  • Has held a position as senior commercial/contracts administration for at least five years with a multinational projects company

Languages

  • Fluent in English and Arabic (written and spoken)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Exceptional negotiation skills (both internal and external stakeholders)
  • Proven financial, commercial and legal acumen
  • Ability to work as a team and independently as necessary
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to review and redraft contracts
  • Good understanding of insurance related matters and claims
  • Variation and claim preparation to a standard of submission to external stakeholders for settlement
  • Ability to advise senior management of available options, risks and outcome
