Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated, analytical, detail-oriented Contract Management Specialist with strong negotiation and communication skills to join our team. The specialist will be responsible for contract management throughout the lifecycle of urban development projects, ensuring compliance with contractual and financial obligations, assessing contractual risks, managing contract variations and claims, and administering contracts throughout their lifecycle. The role requires close collaboration with the Procurement, Cost Control, Financial Analysis & Budgeting, Legal, and Project Management teams.
The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of contract management principles, contract law, and commercial relationships, as well as strong analytical and logical thinking skills. An interest in construction contracts, FIDIC contracts, claims management, contractual risk management, and commercial contract administration is essential. This position is intended for professionals seeking to build a career in contract management, contract advisory, claims management, or commercial management of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
· Contract Development and Document Management: Participate in the preparation, review, negotiation, and administration of contracts, appendices, amendments, change orders, and other contractual documents, ensuring compliance with the Company’s internal policies, legal requirements, and commercial objectives. Develop standard contract templates and continuously improve contractual documentation.
· Contract Negotiations: Support the planning and conduct of contract negotiations, ensuring the mitigation of contractual risks, protection of the Company’s commercial and financial interests, and achievement of balanced contractual terms.
· Dispute Resolution: Coordinate and support dispute resolution processes with counterparties and, where necessary, coordinate litigation and other legal proceedings together with external legal counsel.
· Management of Contractual Obligations: Monitor compliance with contractual obligations of all parties, including payment terms, warranties, insurance, bank guarantees, liabilities, penalties, retentions, contractual deadlines, and other contractual requirements to ensure effective contractual risk management.
· Management of Contract Variations and Claims: Assess contractual aspects of variations, additional works, extensions of time (EOT), claims, and other contractual matters. Prepare supporting justifications, contractual notices, and related documentation, while supporting dispute prevention and resolution.
· Contract Compliance and Risk Management: Identify and assess contractual risks, ensure compliance with the Company’s internal policies and applicable legislation, recommend risk mitigation measures, and support the development of contractual strategies.
· Monitoring of Financial and Contractual Obligations: Monitor compliance with contractual payment prerequisites, payment mechanisms, payment documentation, and contractual financial obligations. Support the preparation of Final Accounts and contract close-out activities.
· Contract Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports on contractual risks, variations, claims, financial obligations, contract status, and other contractual matters for management and other stakeholders.
· Collaboration: Work closely with Procurement Specialists, Cost Control Specialists, Financial Analysis & Budgeting Specialists, Project Managers, Technical teams, and Legal teams to ensure timely and effective management of contractual matters.
· Other Duties: Perform other duties assigned by the Head of Department.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Law, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or another relevant field.
· 2+ years of experience in contract management, contract administration, claims management, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with outstanding academic performance and strong analytical capabilities may also be considered without relevant professional experience.
· Knowledge of or experience working with FIDIC contracts will be considered an advantage.
· Knowledge of construction contracts, contract law, and contractual risk management will be considered an advantage.
· Strong academic record and demonstrated analytical ability.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, is required.
· Strong negotiation, analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to learn quickly and work effectively with large volumes of information and contractual documentation.
· Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
· Ability to communicate and negotiate professionally with both internal and external stakeholders.
· English and Russian language proficiency at B2 level or higher.
· Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
· Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and see tasks through to completion.
