Compensation
Starting at $35,000 annually (based on a 20-hour-per-week schedule), negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

We are seeking an experienced immigration attorney with strong USCIS and consular processing experience who is looking to grow with the firm and take on increasing leadership responsibilities over time.
Position Overview
The Contract Immigration Attorney will primarily handle affirmative immigration matters before USCIS and the U.S. Department of State. The attorney will review legal work, develop case strategy, advise on complex immigration issues, and work closely with the firm’s legal team to ensure high-quality representation.
Responsibilities
- Handle a variety of affirmative immigration matters before USCIS and the U.S. Department of State.
- Develop legal strategy for complex immigration cases.
- Prepare and review petitions, applications, declarations, legal briefs, and supporting evidence.
- Respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and other agency requests.
- Conduct legal research on immigration statutes, regulations, policy guidance, and case law.
- Review filings prepared by paralegals and legal assistants before submission.
- Provide legal guidance and mentorship to members of the legal team.
- Meet with clients as needed.
- Collaborate with the firm’s attorneys and staff to ensure timely, high-quality legal work.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and in good standing. Admission to the Virginia Bar is preferred but not required.
- Significant experience practicing U.S. immigration law.
- Strong experience with USCIS matters and consular processing.
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
- Strong attention to detail and sound legal judgment.
Preferred Experience
Experience handling affirmative immigration matters before USCIS and the U.S. Department of State is preferred. Experience in family-based immigration, adjustment of status, consular processing, waivers, naturalization, humanitarian immigration, or other affirmative immigration matters is a plus.
