Contract Family Law Attorney – Remote / California Jobs in Remote at Haven Family Support
Haven Family Support is building a family-support platform designed to provide affordable, organized assistance to individuals navigating divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support and other family-law matters.
We are seeking a California-licensed Family Law attorney for an ongoing contract relationship as Haven prepares for launch and future growth.
This is not a traditional associate position or full-time litigation role. We are looking for an attorney interested in flexible, ongoing work involving review, supervision and collaboration with our family-law support team.
Responsibilities may include:
- Reviewing family-law documents and work prepared by support personnel where attorney review or supervision is required
- Providing appropriate direction and supervision to paralegal personnel
- Reviewing client information and identifying matters that require direct attorney involvement
- Assisting with development of compliant family-law workflows and procedures
- Conducting limited attorney consultations when separately appropriate
- Helping ensure that attorney-supervised work complies with California professional and ethical requirements
- Identifying matters that should be referred for limited-scope or full legal representation
Qualifications:
- Active California Bar license in good standing
- Family Law experience required; 3+ years preferred
- Strong knowledge of California divorce, custody, child support, spousal support and related procedures
- Experience working with paralegals and legal support staff
- Comfortable working remotely and using cloud-based case-management systems
- Organized, responsive and able to work within defined turnaround times
- Professional liability coverage preferred
- Interest in developing a long-term relationship with a growing family-support organization
Compensation:
This will initially be a contract position with compensation structured on a fixed per-file/review basis and/or hourly basis depending on the scope of work.
We anticipate significant growth and increasing volume as Haven expands. Compensation and workload can be reevaluated as the relationship develops.
