Notes:
few areas saw consistently – one group saw strong supply chain management but less experience in contracts including legal understanding and redlining of contracts
This individual needs to have prior contracts experience with vendor contracts (that is what Enridge is negotiating contracts with vendors) – construction, engineer, and purchase of materials
IT contracts experience would be a bonus along with what else has been listed
another group the hiring manager saw was a lot of good legal background but lacking specifications (legal education or experience needs to be from Canada or US there are specific laws from Canada and US that are applied in this role)
ability to assess supply chain risk – that is being subjectively done when working with a new vendor, team is assessing risk on their own
need to be able to create a risk profile
candidate needs understanding of how to assess risk with a vendor, what questions that need to be asked and how that needs to be applied in the contract (clauses, etc.)
superior verbal and written skills
ability to explain legal clauses in laymen terms (this person will be the liaison between legal and business)
be able to work with lawyers and develop trust with lawyers so they know they are competent enough to provide explanation to the business
this person will be working with folks all across the US and Canada – work in person and virtually – need excellent verbal and written communication skills (saw a lot of items on resumes misspelled and that does not convey well for a senior level opening where they will be working with contracts)
experience working with Canadian and US contracts would be a bonus
experience developing risk profile of supply chain goods and services category would be a bonus
legal experience with vendor contracts (within SCM – supply chain management) – ideal
