Job Overview
Hiring for Assistant County Attorney I.
State prosecutor.
Positon opens Feb. 1, 2025.
Responsibilities:
Thoroughly prepare for and try misdemeanor cases before juries or the bench.
Research, analyze and appropriately draft court motions, memorandums, filings, etc.
Assist more senior attorneys during courtroom docket days including being able to represent the Commonwealth at preliminary hearings, pretrial conferences, arraignments, suppression hearings, etc.
Communicate well with police officers, victims, clerks and other crucial staff involved in the justice system.
Try other types of cases including Guardianships and Juvenile adjudications.
Meet with members of the public concerning private complaint applications or other services we offer.
Skills
Excellent legal drafting skills, capable of producing clear and persuasive documents.
Strong research abilities, with experience using Lexis Nexis or Westlaw for case law analysis.
Effective written and verbal communication skills to articulate legal concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Ability to treat the staff and all others with respect.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $63,200.00 per year
