Litigation attorney sought for assistance with commercial litigation at small firm in North NJ. Hourly rate is dependent on experience, but we have a current budget of no more than $100,000/yr for full-time (or the hourly rate equivalent for part-time). Our pay limit is non-negotiable at this time.
Miscellaneous Income: We do offer a bonus for work you originate.
Hours: You must be able to provide at least 25-30 hours per week. There is flexibility with the hours, but you will need to be able to attend Court hearings, conferences, client meetings, real estate closings, etc. as they get scheduled. We take cases from all over NJ, mostly from Monmouth and above, so you will need to be comfortable driving to the Court.
Admission: Applicants must be admitted to practice law in NJ. Ideally, applicants will have at least 5 years of experience in commercial litigation, but we are willing to train if you have litigation experience but just not commercial litigation.
Benefits:
40 hours of sick leave frontloaded, able to be used on day 1
40 hours of PTO, earned and vested after 120 days for P/T (80 hours for F/T)
CLE Reimbursement ($300/yr for P/T, $600/yr for F/T)
Ability for regular hybrid work after 3 months
About You
JD, Actively licensed in NJ
Technology savvy (FYI we use Mac computers at the office)
Rockstar at legal research and writing
Eager to learn
Comfortable speaking with all people (clients, judges, opposing counsel, etc.)
Able to work independently but also follow directions from the partner/managing attorney
Misc.: We are a family friendly office. The principal attorney has 3 kids that will often come by the office, and the senior paralegal has 2 kids who also make appearances.

We are not the typical law firm. While it is important that you complete your work timely, efficiently, and competently, we are not going to demand you work overtime or yell at you for mistakes. What we lack in ability to pay large firm pay rates, we make up for in our supportive and family-friendly environment. We are also very flexible, so if you need to work from home so you can care for a sick dependent from time to time or because your mobility is limited due to personal sickness, injury, etc., you can pick up at home where you left off at the office by logging in anywhere you have an internet connection.
