Purpose/Job Description

Liaison to company’s consumer magazines, entertainment division and websites. Advise

editorial personnel regarding intellectual property rights, negotiate license agreements and

editorial talent releases with third parties. Review and approve terms of freelance

agreements negotiated by editorial personnel and conduct rights reviews for company’s

global editorial teams. Assist Syndication Specialists team by advising on intellectual

property questions. Additional responsibilities include: analyzing rights in archival materials;

abstracting license agreements; training and advising syndication staff and editorial

departments.

Skills and Experience

Experience with intellectual property license agreements required. The ability to produce

quick, accurate and effective results, attention to detail, excellent interpersonal

communication and negotiation techniques are essential to this role. Negotiation skills

required. The ideal candidate has intellectual property experience in an entertainment

environment (e.g., photography, video/motion picture industry, music, etc.), at least 1-2 year

works experience in a relevant field, good analytical skills, is deadline driven, outgoing and

able to work in a team environment. Experience with Rightsline or other rights management

systems preferred. Italian and/or foreign language skills other than English a plus.
