Job Overview
The Deputy Clerk plays a vital role in supporting the administrative functions of the office. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail while ensuring that all clerical duties are performed efficiently and accurately. Deputy Clerk positions are located in Crown Point, East Chicago, Gary, Hammond and the Juvenile Court Building. Deputy Clerks are responsible for assisting customers at the counter and by phone. Must be comfortable handling money. Will have daily contact with Courts, Attorneys, law Enforcement and the Public.
High school diploma or GED required. Knowledge of computer and customer service a must. Skills involving reading, writing, analyzing, calculating, money handling and working with the public by phone and in person. Must have a valid Driver’s License with the ability to be insured. Must pass a background check.
Duties
Assisting with processing mail and e-filing
Work within the Odyssey system on daily tasks
Assist customers at front counter and by telephone
Scanning case information into the Odyssey system
Assist with other office duties as instructed
Receipting bonds, cash or money orders
Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries from clients, attorneys, and the public
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth office operations and assist in administrative tasks as required
Skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients and colleagues
Experience in data entry with a high level of accuracy.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 29 per week
