We are a female-led, strategically-minded law firm focused on protecting brands and creative assets through commercial and intellectual property work. We are seeking an experienced Trademark & Copyright Attorney to join our team. The successful candidate will handle a mix of trademark and copyright matters—ranging from clearance and prosecution to enforcement and litigation. Our clients include e-commerce businesses, startups, and established brands seeking strategic IP protection and enforcement.

Responsibilities

Portfolio Management: Manage trademark portfolios, including preparing and prosecuting trademark applications, and handling renewals and maintenance.
Clearance & Enforcement: Conduct comprehensive trademark searches and draft legal opinions on availability. Handle trademark enforcement actions – draft cease-and-desist letters, manage disputes (including USPTO TTAB proceedings).
Litigation: Manage various phases of trademark and copyright litigation, including document production and review, discovery meet and confers, depositions, and trial preparation. Collaborate with experts to prepare expert reports and provide insight into technical aspects of cases

· Copyright Counseling: Advise clients on copyright matters such as registrations, infringement issues, and enforcement strategies (including DMCA takedowns when applicable).

· IP Agreements: Draft and negotiate intellectual property agreements, including trademark and copyright license agreements, assignments, and co-existence agreements.

· Client Advising: Provide strategic counsel to clients on protecting and leveraging their brands and creative works. Engage directly with clients to understand their business objectives and tailor IP strategies to meet their needs.

Qualifications

Education & Bar Admission: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey (required).
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in trademark and copyright law, preferably in a law firm environment. Demonstrated hands-on experience with prosecution, clearance, and enforcement, as well as handling litigations for trademark and copyright matters.
Expertise: Strong knowledge of USPTO trademark filing procedures and trademark opposition processes. Familiarity with U.S. copyright registration and enforcement. Trial experience.
Skills: Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills. Able to draft clear client correspondence, legal memos, pleadings and motions, and agreement documents with attention to detail.
Work Style: Self-motivated and organized, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines. Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a hybrid work setting.
Strategic Thinker: Creative problem-solver who can think strategically about clients’ intellectual property challenges and contribute to the firm’s forward-thinking approach.
