Role Description This is a full-time hybrid Compliance Officer role based in Dubai, with flexibility for some work from home. The Compliance Officer will design, implement, and maintain compliance frameworks and policies aligned with applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards across HFI’s international and Middle East-focused activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring regulatory developments, assessing their impact on the firm and its clients, and ensuring procedures and documentation are updated accordingly. The role will involve conducting compliance risk assessments, performing internal reviews, and supporting audits to identify gaps and drive corrective actions. The Compliance Officer will also prepare compliance reports, support training and awareness initiatives for team members, collaborate closely with legal, consulting, and finance colleagues, and contribute to best practices for clients in the energy and energy transition sectors.

Qualifications

  • Strong compliance management capabilities, including experience designing, implementing, and overseeing Compliance Management frameworks and processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Regulatory Compliance, ideally within legal, consulting, financial, or energy-sector environments, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Well-developed Analytical Skills, including the ability to assess risk, analyze legal and regulatory updates, review documentation, and present clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare clear policies, reports, and guidance and to engage effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, and external bodies.
  • Comfort working with Finance-related concepts, including understanding the compliance implications of financial transactions, corporate structures, and investment activities.
  • Relevant academic background such as a degree in Law, Business, Finance, Compliance, or a related field; professional compliance or legal qualifications are an advantage.
