Role Overview

Join the APAC Compliance Team and play a key role in managing compliance matters across the region. This position partners closely with the China Business Unit and regional leadership to develop and execute compliance strategies, lead anti-corruption investigations, monitor compliance risks, and foster a strong culture of integrity. The role ensures that business operations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

Key Challenges

  • Safeguard business integrity and mitigate compliance risks, including anti-corruption, data privacy, and trade compliance, within a complex and evolving regulatory environment.
  • Drive a strong culture of ethics and compliance by embedding compliance principles into day-to-day business operations and enhancing employee awareness.
  • Independently manage fraud and misconduct investigations, support internal and external audits, and effectively handle crisis situations to protect the company’s reputation.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Monitoring & Risk Assessment

  • Conduct compliance monitoring activities and risk assessments across the region.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential compliance risks, including third-party due diligence, gifts and entertainment practices, and other key compliance areas.
  • Develop and implement preventive controls, remediation plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Compliance Training & Culture Building

  • Design and deliver compliance training programs for employees and key stakeholders.
  • Promote awareness of company policies, core values, and expected standards of conduct.
  • Develop communication materials and engagement initiatives to strengthen the compliance culture throughout the organization.

Investigations & Case Management

  • Lead or support the intake, assessment, investigation, and resolution of whistleblower and compliance-related cases.
  • Conduct internal investigations involving fraud, corruption, misconduct, and other compliance concerns.
  • Coordinate with global and regional teams on significant compliance matters and remediation efforts.
  • Engage and manage external counsel and relevant stakeholders to support litigation, disciplinary actions, and judicial proceedings when necessary.

Compliance Advisory & Support

  • Provide compliance advice and support on matters including cybersecurity, data privacy, antitrust/competition law, anti-commercial bribery, FCPA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of compliance programs, policies, and controls.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Procurement, HR, Technical Support, and other functions to integrate compliance requirements into business processes and decision-making.
  • Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders and provide practical, risk-based compliance guidance.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or above. Degree in Law, Audit, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum CET-6 or equivalent English proficiency.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in compliance, ethics, anti-corruption, investigations, internal controls, audit, risk management, legal, or related functions.
  • Experience gained in a multinational corporation, reputable law firm, Big Four accounting firm, consulting firm, or government/judicial institution is highly preferred.

Knowledge & Technical Expertise

  • Solid understanding of compliance investigations, fraud detection, internal controls, and risk management practices.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant PRC laws and regulations, including:
  • Anti-Corruption and Anti-Bribery regulations
  • Anti-Monopoly Law
  • Anti-Unfair Competition Law
  • Data Security Law
  • Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL)
  • Labor and employment-related regulations
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks relating to anti-corruption, competition law, data privacy, and cybersecurity.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate compliance requirements to diverse audiences.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with occasional travel.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PRC Legal Professional Qualification Certificate.
  • CPA, CFE, or other relevant compliance, audit, or investigation certifications.
  • Experience leading anti-fraud, anti-corruption, or whistleblower investigations.
