Legal Asset Management Associate – Contract Compliance & Analysis
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support legal asset management, contract analysis, and compliance across various solar projects within the funded portfolio. This newly created position will be instrumental in ensuring contractual compliance and mitigating legal risks. While a law degree is not required, this role is well-suited for someone looking to build a career in contract management or legal compliance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in legal asset management while working at the intersection of renewable energy and contract law.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Compliance
Ensure adherence to energy offtake agreements, tax equity agreements, operational agreements (O&M), and EPC contracts.
Monitor and enforce contract terms, including NDAs and other legal documents.
Identify and address potential disputes, guiding next steps such as issuing notices or formal communications.
Contract Management
Extract and analyze key contract provisions to ensure compliance with obligations.
Support contract negotiations and track follow-through on agreed terms.
Serve as a bridge between the legal team and asset management operations to maintain seamless project execution.
Collaboration
Work closely with C-Suite to support asset management operations.
Ideal Candidate:
✔ Experience: 2-3 years in the energy industry with exposure to contracts.
✔ Background: Interest in contract law and legal processes; experience in utility-scale or distributed generation (DG) energy is a plus, but solar-specific experience is not required.
✔ Skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
