The Position:
We are looking for a Compliance Counsel to& join our Renewable Energy Manufacturing firm to provide a wide range of legal advice and counsel involving regulatory compliance, and other internal and external compliance matters including cybersecurity, employment, product and safety. This role will report to the Director of Commercial Risk Control.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Manage the drafting, approval, maintenance, and storage of compliance policies and procedures,
and oversee enforcement across business units
● Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvements across business units
● Communicate recommended changes to the specific engagement or process to the busine
owner and stakeholders
● Work with compliance investigators to continuously enhance mechanisms for detecting, reporting and correcting violations so as to ensure minimal impact and optimal correction
● Be prepared to represent the company and advise executive team in the event of administrative or law enforcement audits, investigations or litigation
● Work with outside firms on audits, risk assessments, and investigations on a variety of task
including the fulfillment of document request
● Assist in selection, development and oversight of platforms and online tools utilized by
compliance, including due diligence, training, and policy management tools
● Keep informed of relevant legal developments as they occur, analyzing their applicability to the
company’s activities and objectives
● Recommend corporate policies and strategies that promote the company’s goals while complying with regulations and propose changes in company policy as necessary, based on the regular review of internal controls.
Minimum Requirements:
· Law degree + membership in U.S. State bar
· 3-7 years of relevant legal experience, with in-house preferred.
· Demonstrated experience advising and providing practical solutions to the management of privacy, security, HR, supply chain, & other compliance risks, as well as litigation & investigation experience.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
· Always maintain a strict level of confidentiality
· Great organizational skills, ability to multitask, self-motivator, strong attention to detail, and a
willingness to learn and help wherever needed.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Must be a dedicated professional with a positive attitude.
Travel: Up to 10%
