Compliance Counsel Jobs in Washington, DC at Ericsson

We are looking for a Litigation Paralegal | Employment Paralegal to join our team. A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for employment law and wants to grow with our firm.

Job Responsibilities

Draft basic motions and mediation briefs, including creating templates.
Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
Write meet and confer letters.
Create and file PAGA (Private Attorneys General Act) letters and complaints online.
Work with third-party administrators on class notices, declarations, and distribution timelines.
Organize and maintain case files, law libraries, and documents.
Oversee questionnaire campaigns for class action and PAGA cases.
Draft first drafts of settlement agreements and memorandums of understanding (MOUs).
Keep track of important dates on attorneys’ calendars (e.g., hearing dates, filing deadlines, depositions).
Submit filings electronically through state and federal court systems (CM/ECF/PACER).
Draft and proofread legal correspondence, checking for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting errors.
Assist with preparing and revising legal documents for state and federal cases (e.g., correspondence, pleadings, discovery submissions).
Handle sensitive and time-sensitive materials.
Respond to discovery requests and work with plaintiffs to gather information.
Supervise tasks assigned to legal assistants.
Stay aware of safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
Address client concerns and resolve them promptly.
Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor at all times.
Work well with colleagues and other departments within the firm.

Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
Paralegal Certification
Experience in Litigation, especially in employment or class action law
Excellent research and writing skills
Knowledge of legal deadlines and the California Code of Civil Procedure
Familiar with state and federal court processes, especially in labor and employment law
Bilingual (preferred, not required)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good listener and critical thinker
Ability to handle pressure and manage multiple tasks
Organized and detail-oriented
Proficient in software like Filevine, GSuite, Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Excel

Work Environment

The noise level is typically light to moderate.
Ability to lift up to 20lbs occasionally.
May require standing, walking, bending, and stretching for over five hours a day.
