Job Summary
micro1 is engaging Compliance Attorneys to contribute their legal expertise to a customer project focused on compliance, regulatory matters, and the advancement of AI systems. In this role, you’ll apply your legal knowledge to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain expertise is what matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, review, and annotate legal documents and compliance materials to support AI system development.
- Draft detailed explanations, rationales, and responses to complex compliance scenarios for use in AI training datasets.
- Evaluate and critique AI-generated legal outputs for accuracy, logical reasoning, and alignment with U.S. compliance standards.
- Collaborate remotely with project leads and technical specialists to provide expertise on complex compliance and regulatory matters.
- Develop scenario-based questions and answers reflecting current compliance trends, regulations, and challenges.
- Identify ambiguities, legal risks, and potential compliance issues in AI-generated outputs and recommend improvements.
- Provide structured feedback on processes and evaluation standards to support the continuous improvement of AI training protocols.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Active attorney license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 3–15 years of recent, substantive experience practicing compliance law in the United States.
- Current U.S.-based practice focused on compliance, regulatory, or related legal matters.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and regulatory concepts clearly and concisely.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when reviewing legal and compliance materials.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Judicial clerkship experience, including service as a clerk for a federal or state judge.
- Experience teaching law courses or legal writing at an accredited law school.
- Editorial experience with legal journals during law school.
- Experience evaluating legal content, developing assessment criteria, or reviewing AI-generated legal outputs.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies, AI systems, or legal technology is a plus.
Compensation Structure
Compensation is output-based; experts are paid per task that meets the project specifications. The time required to complete work may vary depending on the expert’s experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements apply. Experts must submit a minimum number of tasks per week.
Start Timeline & Availability
We typically fill roles within 48 hours and are looking for experts ready to jump in right away. If selected, we expect you to start your first tasks within 24–48 hours of completing onboarding.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $90.00 – $150.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
