A high-impact investment group is looking for a Compliance and Legal Counsel to play a pivotal role in managing compliance risks and legal processes across its diverse investment portfolio – which spans banking, financial, telecoms, agriculture, and mining.
Responsibilities:
Compliance
Monitor, test, and report on group-wide compliance
Build and implement the regulatory universe and compliance monitoring plan
Provide regulatory advice and guidance to senior management
Handle submissions, notifications, and responses to regulatory bodies
Lead incident reporting and drive remedial action planning
Ensure FICA/AML compliance and manage industry engagements
Legal
Draft and review constitutional documents, shareholder agreements, SLAs, and funding instruments
Support transaction implementation, including resolutions and condition precedent schedules
Provide general legal support across business units
Assist with internal policy development and governance
Requirements:
LLB Degree
Admitted Attorney
4-6 Years of Legal and Compliance Regulatory experience, including Mergers and Acquisitions experience – non negotiable
Proven track record in legal drafting, compliance risk management, and regulatory engagement
