Position Overview

- Languages: Native/fluent Portuguese and excellent professional fluency in English
Key Responsibilities
Legal Expertise & Casework
- Merger Control: Advise on complex concentration of undertakings and national/EU merger filings
- Antitrust Conduct: Handle high-stakes investigations regarding abuses of a dominant position and restrictive practice
- Litigation: Represent clients in private enforcement of competition rules before national court
- EU Advocacy: Manage EU litigation concerning State infringements and State aid compliacen
- Regulatory Advice: Provide strategic counsel on the applicability of evolving EU competition regulations.
Leadership & Autonomy
- Matter Management: Drive complex, cross-border cases with a high degree of autonomy
- Team Coordination: Lead, mentor, and coordinate junior associates and multidisciplinary project teams
- Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for high-profile domestic and international clients.
Candidate Profile
Technical Skills & Experience
- Background: Solid, robust experience within a reputable Competition practice
- Education: Master’s degree or LL.M. in European/Competition Law is highly advantageous
- Jurisdiction: Fully qualified to practice law in Portugal
