Paralegal I – Civil Rights
Onsite – Tampa, FL
EnProVera is seeking a highly organized administrative professional to support the US Attorney’s Office’s (USAO) Civil Rights Enforcement division in the Middle District Court in Tampa, Florida. Join EnProVera to support the USAO’s important mission.
Position Responsibilities:
Field and log phone calls and questions about the USAO Affirmative Civil Rights Enforcement Program.
Assist with civil cases to include social security disability and foreclosure cases.
Obtain needed information for matters and submit information to the appropriate AUSA or investigator.
Compose original letters using a good working knowledge of legal procedures and specialized terminology relevant to civil rights laws and regulations.
Prepare other documents in conformance with the rules governing style and format.
Conduct initial interviews of civil rights complainants.
Review complaints and determine additional information requirements.
Notify complainant of pending status and secure additional information if necessary.
Receive visitors and telephone calls.
Furnish requested information concerning pending and closed matters and cases, functions, and general procedures of the office.
Determine matters to be referred to the AUSA and the level of urgency.
Establish and maintain a variety of civil rights files, documents, and databases.
Search legal reference files for information needed by civil rights AUSAs and investigators in conducting interviews and preparing correspondence.
Assemble exhibits, affidavits, and other legal documents from file material.
Organize civil rights files, correspondence and records material for disposition or transfer to records depository in accordance with established procedures.
Maintain calendar and/or database of assigned active civil rights complaints, investigations, matters and cases.
Track filing, hearing, and trial dates, and scheduling conferences and interviews.
Format and edit draft legal documents.
Review and analyze documents served on the USAO and route to appropriate personnel.
Communicate professionally with staff, the public, and stakeholders.
Meet established deadlines and work collaboratively as a team player.
Maintain a courteous and tactful manner in all interactions.
Required Skills and Experience:
High School Diploma required; undergraduate degree preferred.
Previous experience with the United States Attorney’s Office preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in office software and phone systems.
Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
U.S. citizenship
Physical Demands:
Physical ability to stoop, kneel, bend, use a computer and perform light lifting of 11-25 pounds.

Ability to learn new tasks.
Ability to complete tasks independently,
Strong skill set in time management and complex scheduling.
Demonstrated ability to convey written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience, using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
