With a national network, our client delivers essential equipment and end-to-end project solutions to thousands of customers across construction, infrastructure, mining & resources, engineering, and major events.
The Legal Team
Reporting to a supportive Head of Legal, you will join a close-knit legal team of five.
The Role
You will work closely with the major projects team to negotiate and manage high-value supply and services contracts across Australia and New Zealand. This role combines significant contract negotiation with hands-on management of disputes, while also supporting broader commercial and corporate matters across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiating, drafting and reviewing complex commercial contracts, including Works Agreements, Supply Agreements, Service Agreements, NDAs, Statements of Work, and Framework Agreements.
- Managing a range of commercial disputes and issues, including labour hire, payment claims, subcontractor insolvency, bank guarantees, and insurance matters.
- Assisting with procurement agreement negotiations.
- Partnering with external counsel on regulatory compliance.
- Providing proactive legal and commercial advice to identify, manage, and mitigate contractual risks.
Ideal Candidate
- At least 5 years’ post-qualification experience in construction, procurement or corporate/commercial law.
- Confident leading negotiations with strong drafting and problem-solving skills.
- Ideally a mix of private practice and in-house experience.
- Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented with the ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders.
