Role Purpose
Sylvania Lighting is looking for an experienced Commercial Legal Counsel, who can support and advise Sylvania Group’s managers and internal stakeholders. The position, based in the office of our international headquarter in Budapest, provides legal advice in relation to mainly commercial legal matters covering the activities within the Sylvania Group.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, Terms of Conditions frameworks, and tender documents for distribution agreements and procurement agreements
Focus on smart applications and cloud services, which is why software law and data privacy law are important
Advise on the GDPR and warranty questions of commercial transactions
Manage the litigation cases related with commercial matters
Manage close relationships with external law firms and advisors based in various jurisdictions; however, self-implement legal tasks in the majority of transactional matters
Person specification and background
In-house legal experience within any technology-related industry, or experience gained within a law firm with a focus on giving advice related to commercial and/or software services agreements
Bar exam in Hungary or another EU country or in the UK is a strong advantage
LL.M. in a related field (foreign trade, data privacy, infocommunications, etc.) is an advantage
Fluent in English
Good IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
At least basic knowledge of GDPR, proficiency is an advantage
Autonomous personality, still able to work in team
