About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading mid-sized business law firm, is looking to add a commercial lawyer with a minimum of three years’ experience to its team.
Duties
include but are not limited to:
Advising on technology contracting and the commercialization of intellectual property law and technology products
Drafting and negotiation of a variety of standard agreements including software license agreements (distributed and SaaS model); distribution agreements; in-bound and out-bound intellectual property licenses
Providing technology and intellectual property support for M&A transactions
Conducting due diligence and review of representations and warranties in respect to technology and intellectual property matters
Providing advice in respect to privacy and other compliance-related matters
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
A minimum of three years’ experience working as a commercial or technology lawyer in a law firm or in-house setting;
Be an active member of a Law Society in a province in Canada;
Exceptional organizational and client servicing skills;
Excellent writing skills and the ability to convey complex matters in a simple manner
