Our client is an established UK based Fintech who, with a growing customer base of over 1 million users, is achieving its aim of making financial management accessible to anyone. Since inception, this business has developed a number of innovative products and can function as an all-in-one platform for savings, investments and pensions.
We are now seeking a senior commercial lawyer, for a 12-month fixed-term contract maternity cover role.
The incumbent acts as the Head of Legal for the Commercial Team, managing a small team of 3 professionals and reporting to the Legal Director. The successful candidate will work from the Central London Headquarters and home (hybrid) and will perform a broad role encompassing:
Acting as legal lead of the Commercial Legal Team: supervising and allocating work to more junior members and executing the business’ legal strategy in broader terms;
Leading legal tech implementation, which may include the use of AI contract review tools with the aim of increasing the efficacy of the CLM function;
Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts, such as those with banking partners, outsourcers as well as customer-facing terms;
Collaborate internally on the development of new products as well as promotions of the current product range;
Advising the Compliance Team on regulatory queries as and when required.
We are looking for candidates with a track record of handling escalation points on BAU commercial legal work, as well as driving legal tech/efficiency projects within the financial services arena (ideally from another fintech/early growth company).
