Commercial Disputes Associate (Full-Time Permanent Placement; Newark, NJ)
Latitude is partnering with a highly regarded AmLaw 100 law firm to identify a talented Mid-Level Commercial Disputes Associate for a permanent opportunity in its Newark, New Jersey office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation associate with 3–5+ years of experience who is ready to take on sophisticated, high-stakes commercial disputes while continuing to build meaningful courtroom, case-management, and client-facing experience. The role will support the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice, with exposure to general commercial litigation, multidistrict litigation, and class actions in both state and federal courts.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience independently conducting legal research, drafting substantive pleadings and motions, and managing all phases of discovery, including e-discovery. Associates will work closely with accomplished litigators who are committed to active mentoring and professional development, with opportunities to take on increasing responsibility, deepen client relationships, and play a meaningful role in complex matters.
Key Requirements
- 3+ years of commercial litigation experience
- Experience with general commercial litigation, multidistrict litigation, and/or class actions
- Experience litigating matters in state and federal courts
- Ability to independently conduct legal research and draft substantive pleadings and motions
- Experience organizing, conducting, and managing discovery, including e-discovery
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar or eligibility to sit for the New Jersey Bar
Additional Qualifications
- Judicial clerkship and/or law journal experience preferred, but not required
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and sound professional judgment

Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $215,000 to $255,000+. Pay is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
