Our client is a globally recognised financial institution with a significant European presence. With a well-established in-house legal function, they are now seeking an experienced Commercial Counsel to join their European legal team in Dublin.
Key Points
- Minimum 7 years PQE
- Reporting to the Head of Legal
- You will join a team of 5 qualified lawyers

The Role
This is a broad commercial and corporate governance role sitting within a regulated financial services environment. You will act as a trusted legal adviser to the business, bringing pragmatic, commercially sound guidance across a varied portfolio of work spanning contracts, governance, regulatory compliance, and risk. Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including trading, data, and technology agreements
- Advise on corporate law and governance matters, including board governance, corporate structuring, and intra-group arrangements
- Support business and regulatory projects by drafting and implementing legal and regulatory policies and procedures
- Identify and assess legal risks associated with new business initiatives, transactions, and market activity
- Collaborate with the compliance function to ensure adherence to regulatory obligations and support engagement with regulators
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 7 years PQE
- In-house experience within a financial services business
- Strong commercial law background with hands-on contract drafting and negotiation experience
- Solid understanding of corporate governance principles and regulatory frameworks applicable to financial services
- Commercially minded, with the ability to deliver clear, practical advice to senior stakeholders
