About the Role
The Commercial Counsel will report to the General Counsel and provide hands-on, commercially focused legal support. The role involves advising on technology transactions, commercial agreements, and strategic corporate initiatives, including fundraising and capital markets/IPO-readiness work.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate technology and commercial contracts (SaaS, software, AI, data, enterprise customers, partnerships).
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders and senior management.
- Support corporate and strategic initiatives, including fundraising and capital markets preparation.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on business-critical projects.
- Manage external counsel on specialized or jurisdiction-specific matters.
- Help scale legal processes, templates, and frameworks for a growing business.
Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer with 3–6 years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong background in technology transactions and commercial agreements, ideally in high-growth or tech-focused environments.
- Exposure to capital markets, fundraising, or IPO work is a plus.
- Commercial, solutions-oriented mindset; comfortable balancing risk and business needs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to work with senior leadership.
- Licensed in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and fluent in English.
