China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC) is seeking a highly experienced Commercial & Contracts Manager to join our team in the Maldives. This role is ideal for a professional with extensive expertise in FIDIC contracts and building construction projects, capable of managing commercial and contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents and identify contractual and commercial risks.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and prepare contractual qualifications.
- Draft, review, and negotiate main contracts and subcontracts.
- Administer contracts and manage post-award subcontract documentation.
- Prepare and manage variations, claims, Extensions of Time (EOT), and additional cost submissions.
- Draft contractual notices, correspondence, and claim documentation.
- Support commercial negotiations, dispute resolution, and final account settlements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in commercial and contract management.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC Contracts, particularly the Yellow Book, Silver Book, and Blue Book.
- Proven experience in building construction projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, risk assessment, variation management, and claims preparation.
