2. About the Opportunity:

The Claims Assistant role supports the claims team by managing the initial setup and ongoing administration of workers’ compensation claims. This position is crucial in maintaining accurate claim records, facilitating communication, and ensuring smooth case management processes, thereby contributing directly to the organization’s ability to serve its clients effectively. The role is fully remote.

3. Responsibilities:

• Set up new claims

• Process mail and handle files prior to paperless transition

• Enter notes and diary entries in the claims system

• Process payments as needed

• Manage form letters, state forms, and reports

• Assist claims examiners with calls involving providers, claimants, and customers

• Perform additional duties as assigned

4. Requirements:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and general PC literacy

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Strong organizational skills

• High school diploma required; college degree preferred

• Six months of service-oriented office experience preferred

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• Pay range: $16.90 to $23.42 per hour, determined by factors including location, experience, and qualifications

• Salary levels may be adjusted based on assessment during the interview process
