Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our legal team. Murphy Law is a law firm based in Overland Park, Kansas, and our practice is focused upon business law and business litigation. We represent clients throughout the United States and internationally. Our work environment is generally business casual but always professional. As an Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal support and assistance to our clients. This is a full-time position in our office.
Responsibilities:
– Conduct legal research using LexisNexis and other legal databases
– Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and agreements
– Assist with litigation matters, including preparing for and attending hearings, trials, and depositions
– Form business entities, prepare business to business contracts
– Negotiate settlements and communicate with opposing counsel
– Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
– Perform legal administrative tasks as needed
– Write legal memoranda and briefs
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:
– Ability to use your judgment and initiative to accomplish tasks
– Good communication skills with clients and others
– Strong research skills with experience using LexisNexis
– Proficiency in legal research and writing
– Ability to draft clear and concise legal documents
– Knowledge of litigation procedures and practices
– Excellent negotiation skills
– Strong attention to detail
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience:
Attorney: 3 years (Minimum Required)
Business transactions and business litigation: 5 years (Preferred)
Ability to Relocate:
Overland Park, KS 66210: Relocate before starting work (Required)
