Job Summary:

The Compliance Officer ensures that the company complies with all applicable federal laws, regulations, and contractual obligations related to its work as a government contractor. This includes overseeing internal compliance programs, developing and implementing policies and procedures, monitoring activities, and liaising with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders to manage risk and maintain ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other applicable government contracting rules.
Develop, implement, and maintain internal compliance programs, policies, procedures, and training for staff.
Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
Serve as the primary liaison with government agencies during audits or investigations.
Oversee and maintain records of government contracts and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Lead investigations into compliance issues and support corrective action processes.
Monitor ethics hotline reports and oversee whistleblower protections.
Coordinate with HR, Legal, Procurement, and Program Management teams to ensure contract and regulatory compliance across all departments.
Prepare and submit required reports (e.g., EEO-1, VETS-4212, and others as applicable).
Stay informed about regulatory changes and ensure that the company is prepared to comply with them.
Serve as point of contact during Government audits, inspections, or reviews.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s of Science/Bachelor’s of Administration from an accredited university
5+ years of experience in compliance, preferably with a federal government contractor.
In-depth knowledge of FAR, DFARS, ITAR, FCPA, and other federal compliance frameworks.
Experience with ISO 9001, NIST 800-171, or CMMC is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High ethical standards, integrity, and discretion.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and manage complex compliance initiatives.
Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Skills and Certifications:

Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or similar certification.
Experience with GSA schedules, Service Contract Act (SCA), or Davis-Bacon Act.
Familiarity with cybersecurity compliance and supply chain risk management.

Working Conditions:

Some travel may be required for audits or client meetings.
