Civil Litigation Attorney (3-5 years) Jobs in Seattle, WA at McGlinchey Stafford
Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, the leading champion of empowerment and opportunity for African Americans and others throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance, social equality, and civil rights, is seeking a highly motivated community-focused individual to work as a Gun Violence Mediator for our Serving Our Streets Program within the Public Safety Division.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Gaining information on potential conflicts St. Louis Metropolitan Area
Formulating action plans to help resolve conflicts
Attending weekly mediation meetings
Meeting with high-risk individuals to discuss issues
Working to prevent initial acts of violence
Helping in the efforts to prevent all potential retaliatory shootings
Developing relationships with influential individuals and groups in the community
Referring potential clients/participants to outreach workers
Documenting conflicts resolved on conflict mediation forms
Maintain log documenting all contacts with high-risk individuals daily
Participating in all required training
Attending community responses as needed
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills
Experience or training in crisis intervention
Knowledge of St. Louis Metropolitan Area
Reliable transportation
Valid Missouri driver’s license, insurance, and good driving record
