Attorney Position – Derryberry & Associates, LLP

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated attorney to join our firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and/or transactional law, excellent legal research and writing skills, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Litigation (Business & Civil)
Handle all aspects of litigation from inception through trial and appeal
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and briefs
Take and defend depositions of witnesses, clients, and experts
Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
Negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolutions
Develop case strategies and provide legal counsel to clients
Business Law
Advise business clients on entity formation, governance, and compliance
Draft and review contracts, operating agreements, and corporate documents
Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and business transactions
Counsel clients on regulatory and risk management matters
Estate Planning & Probate
Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advanced healthcare directives
Advise clients on estate tax planning and asset protection
Represent clients in probate court, including will contests and trust litigation
Assist in estate administration and fiduciary representation
Qualifications & Requirements:
✔ Licensed to practice law in California
✔ Strong courtroom presence and ability to argue motions effectively
✔ Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
✔ Ability to independently manage a caseload and meet deadlines
✔ Experience in business transactions, estate planning, or probate matters preferred
✔ Ability to build and maintain client relationships
