What You'll Do
- Handle a full caseload of civil defense matters — construction, premises liability, personal injury defense, professional liability, civil rights, and insurance defense
- Work directly with firm principals on case strategy, motions practice, depositions, and trial preparation
- Draft discovery, dispositive motions, and pre-trial pleadings across multiple active files
- Take and defend depositions and appear in state and federal court hearings
- Participate in firm-sponsored continuing education, including the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers Trial Academy and IADC programs
What We're Looking For
- 3–6 years of civil defense litigation experience (required)
- Active Missouri Bar license (required); Illinois bar admission is a plus
- Construction law experience is a meaningful differentiator
- Comfort managing a real caseload with billable targets of 165–200 hours/month
- Collaborative, team-oriented attorney who wants to grow in a firm, not just through it
IMPORTANT TO KNOW
Primarily in-office in downtown St. Louis (5 days to start; flexibility as you integrate). Year-end bonus: $3K–$20K based on billables. Annual profit share: 1–3%. 401(k) with 3% match.
