Referment is proud to be partnered with a highly respected international investment firm to hire a dynamic and experienced Chief of Staff for their US operations based in Boston. This is a rare opportunity to step into a broad and influential role, overseeing compliance, operations, and strategic execution for the firm’s growing US platform.

About The Role

In this multi-faceted leadership position, you will act as the US Chief Compliance Officer while also leading operational initiatives across HR, finance, IT, and vendor management. Reporting directly to the global CFO and CCO, you will be a trusted partner to the US Managing Partners and play a critical role in driving efficiency, regulatory alignment, and cross-border collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the firm’s US Chief Compliance Officer, ensuring compliance with SEC filings, AML/KYC, OFAC, and data privacy regulations.

Support strategic initiatives and operational execution across the US investment practices.

Coordinate HR administration, onboarding, benefits (including PEO and 401(k)), and employment compliance.

Prepare executive reports, financial summaries, and regulatory documents.

Act as liaison between global and US leadership, fostering alignment and communication.

Interface with external counsel, service providers, and regulatory authorities.

Who We’re Looking For

7+ years’ experience in a senior operations or compliance role at an investment firm (SEC-registered preferred).

Strong understanding of US regulatory frameworks across private equity, real estate, or financial services.

Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Hands-on experience with compliance systems and productivity tools.

Excellent interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.

Experience working in or with international teams; European business culture exposure a plus.
