Chief Legal Officer – Financial Services Jobs in Gandhinagar, India at Talent Toppers
Role reports to MD & CEO Relevant experience of 15 years in Legal role with hands on & good knowledge/understanding of SEBI / IFSCA Regulations from Capital Market domain Will be responsible to manage the overall legal functions of the organisation in accordance with regulations including drafting and vetting bye-laws or any amendments before submission to the Authority for approval, vetting legal documents related to cross-border arrangements proposed by the MII, and Performing other functions as specified by the governing board or the Authority from time to time.
1. Legal:
– Ensuring
legal compliance
, mitigating risks and facilitating smooth operations of exchange.
2. Contracts and Agreements:
– Oversee the drafting, negotiation and review of contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
– Provide legal guidance on contractual matters to different departments.
– Drafting and vetting bye-laws or any amendments before submission to the Authority for approval.
– Vetting legal documents related to cross-border arrangements proposed by the MII.
– Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with contracts.
3. Legal Strategy and Advice:
– Develop and implement the company’s legal strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
– Provide legal advice to
senior management
on strategic initiatives and business transactions.
– Assess and manage legal risks associated with business operations.
4. Dispute resolution:
– Work with the business and other stakeholders to own the issue and drive conclusion.
– Manage and oversee legal disputes, litigation and regulatory investigations.
– Collaborate with external legal counsel where necessary. 5.
Risk Management:
– Work with relevant stakeholders to identify, assess, manage and mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
– Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures

Communication
:
– Oversee timely and accurate dissemination of information to regulatory authorities and stakeholders.
7. Team Management:
– Lead and manage the legal team.
– Foster a culture of legal awareness within the organization.
– Financial measures – As defined in key performance indicator.
– Customer measures – As defined in key performance indicators.
– Internal Processes measures – As defined in key performance indicator.

Experience:
– Essential – LLB degree with 15 years of experience in Legal role.
– Desired – LLM degree – Deep understanding of legal principles, high executive impact, excellent
communication skills
, strategic thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to achieve business objectives while managing legal risks.
