On behalf of our client, a specialized company for outsourced omnichannel customer support, experience, and complaint handling, we are looking for a Chief Legal & Compliance Officer to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads and manages the Legal, Corporate, Compliance, AML, Complaints Handling, and Investigations teams.
- Oversees daily operations, staff performance, reporting, and departmental procedures.
- Coordinates cross-functional matters and ensures operational efficiency.
- Oversees the review and negotiation of commercial, corporate, banking, and service agreements.
- Supports corporate structuring, business expansion, acquisitions, and strategic projects.
- Manages corporate governance, company restructuring, and multi-jurisdictional corporate matters.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, licensing obligations, and internal policies.
- Oversees AML/KYC processes, transaction monitoring, due diligence reviews, and financial crime prevention.
- Liaises with regulators, auditors, and external advisors.
- Oversees complaints handling, investigations, escalations, and regulatory matters.
- Reviews findings, recommend corrective actions, and ensure proper reporting and documentation.
- Oversees relationships with banks, EMIs, PSPs, liquidity providers, and key service providers.
- Supports payment infrastructure, banking operations, and operational frameworks.
- Identifies and mitigates legal, regulatory, operational, and reputational risks.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Law and/or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience within Forex, CFDs, Fintech, Payments, Banking, or Financial Services.
- Previous managerial or supervisory experience within Legal, Corporate, Commercial, Compliance, AML, Risk, and/or Operations oversight roles is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of financial services regulations, AML/KYC, corporate governance, licensing, and risk management.
- Experience working with regulators, banks, EMIs, PSPs, and external service providers.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English; additional languages are considered an advantage.
- Professional certifications in Legal, Compliance, AML, or Corporate Governance are a prerequisite.
- Experience with international corporate structures and multi-jurisdictional operations is required.
- Experience with regulators such as CySEC, FCA, ASIC, and FSCA is required.
