Responsibilities
The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) will lead the compliance function, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements, especially those set by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). The CCO will oversee the development, implementation, and enforcement of internal policies to mitigate compliance risks and uphold the company’s reputation and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure ongoing compliance with MAS laws, regulations, notices, and guidelines.
Develop and maintain compliance policies tailored to Singapore’s regulatory environment.
Act as the primary liaison with MAS and other regulators.
Handle regulatory filings and notifications timely.
Report compliance issues to the Board and Group Compliance.
Maintain a comprehensive compliance monitoring program.
AML/CFT Oversight
Design and maintain an effective AML/CFT framework.
Conduct risk assessments and report suspicious activities.
Supervise transaction monitoring and sanctions screening.
Ensure proper customer due diligence processes.
Maintain records of AML/CFT controls and interactions.
Provide AML/CFT training regularly.
Training, Conduct & Ethics
Develop compliance training programs.
Monitor adherence to conduct codes and policies.
Address conflicts of interest.
Maintain the representatives register and CPD compliance.
Licensing, Reporting & Complaints
Oversee licensing of employees and representatives.
Manage dispute resolution cases.
Support audits and MAS licensing applications.
Leadership
&
Collaboration
Lead and mentor the compliance team.
Collaborate with legal, operations, and tech teams to foster compliance culture.
Represent compliance in management meetings.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields.
Certifications like ACAMS or ICA.
Meet MAS’s Fit and Proper criteria.
Previous MAS approval.
Extensive experience in MAS-regulated compliance roles.
Minimum 8 years in compliance or AML/CFT within financial services.
Experience with securities, derivatives, or investment products.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Proven leadership abilities.
High ethical standards and resilience.
Business proficiency in English (CEFR B2+).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with MAS licensing processes.
Familiarity with compliance tools.
Background in fintech or capital markets.
Membership in professional compliance bodies.
