Job Summary:

The Contracts Coordinator works with BDO’s Office of General Counsel (OGC) and its attorneys and other internal firm stakeholders on commercial and transactional matters. This individual is responsible for managing a deadline driven engagement contract-related ancillary document review process and workflow for client facing agreements.

The Contracts Coordinator plays a key role in identifying content within client service agreements and ancillary documents for internal stakeholder review (e.g., Codes of Conduct, ESG policies, Data Privacy, IT Security, other client policies etc.). This role is responsible for distributing agreement provisions and related documents to applicable internal stakeholders, coordinating timely stakeholder review and, where appropriate, consolidating comments and following up on additional reviews through the contract negotiation. This individual works both independently and collaboratively with OGC attorneys and other firm stakeholders and professionals to facilitate the client contracting process, thereby assisting the business in driving revenue growth and furthering client service strategies.

Job Duties:

Develops a general understanding of commercial transactional agreements and ancillary documents at BDO, e.g., MSAs, Codes of Conduct, Data Protection/Privacy, Sustainability, Environmental & Social Governance (ESG), IT Security, and other client corporate policies etc.
Reviews and analyzes deadline-driven client transactional agreements and ancillary documents and identify internal stakeholders whose feedback is required
Communicates to internal stakeholders and distributes the relevant provisions requiring their review and the expected response due dates
Develops and implements a process for seeking required content contributions within required timelines
Reviews and assists with editing and integrating information from all stakeholder contributors into a cohesive response throughout the contracting lifecycle, as needed
Works with OGC attorneys as directed to optimize legal contract management processes and continually improve efficiency
Leverages contract management lifecycle tools and BDO technology to efficiently manage ancillary document review process
Provides high quality, accurate, and efficient service and work product

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) or more years of experience in contract review and contract management or similar experience, required OR
Bachelor’s Degree, required; with a focus in Business Administration, Marketing, English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing field, preferred

Experience:

Five (5) or more years of experience in contract review and contract management or similar experience, required
Project management experience, required
Experience with professional services firms or procurement, preferred

Software:

Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel, required
Advanced proficiency with technologies such as SharePoint, contract management software, required

License(s)/Certification(s):

Paralegal or procurement certifications or equivalent, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Positive client service attitude
Strong project management skills, including ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively to completion in deadline-driven environment
Team player who works well collaboratively as well as independently to achieve desired results
Solid business or legal review and writing skills with a focus on identifying and understanding key contract clauses and corporate policies
Strong business acumen and ability to understand and communicate BDO’s business, processes, and policies

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

California Range: $75,000 – $100,000
Colorado Range: $75,000 – $100,000
Illinois Range: $75,000 – $100,000
Maryland Range: $75,000 – $100,000
Minnesota Range: $75,000 – $100,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $75,000 – $100,000
Washington Range: $75,000 – $100,000
Washington DC Range: $75,000 – $100,000
